Source abstract

The study aimed to identify the correlation between mathematics teachers’ concepts of fluency in mathematics(MTCF) and teaching efficiency, as well as their teaching practices that support creativity(TPSC) and teaching efficiency, and whether gender (male-female) is a moderator variable in this relationship. The study sample consisted of (170) teachers divided into (103) male and (67) female. The results of the study concluded that there is a weak, positive, and significant correlation between teachers’ concepts of fluency in mathematics and their teaching efficiency, as well as a medium, positive, and significant correlation between teaching practices that support creativity and their teaching efficiency, where the concepts of fluency in mathematics contributed (13.01%) of the variance in teaching efficiency in mathematics. Teaching practices that support creativity were contributed by (63.46%) of the variance in teaching efficiency. The results concluded that gender is not a moderator in the relationship between MTCF and teaching efficiency, and the relationship between TPSC and teaching efficiency.
