Source abstract
An -identifying code in a graph is a subset such that for each the intersection of and the ball of radius centered at is non-empty and unique. Previously, -identifying codes have been studied in various grids. In particular, it has been shown that there exists a -identifying code in the hexagonal grid with density and that there are no -identifying codes with density smaller than . Recently, the lower bound has been improved to by Martin and Stanton (2010). In this paper, we prove that the -identifying code with density is optimal, i.e. that there does not exist a -identifying code in the hexagonal grid with smaller density.
