Gender equity in mathematics education is a critical issue that affects individuals, societies, and the global workforce. Historically, gender disparities in mathematics have been deeply rooted in cultural norms, societal expectations, and institutional structures that have limited opportunities for certain groups, particularly women and non-binary individuals. Addressing these disparities is not just a matter of fairness but also a necessity for fostering innovation, economic growth, and social progress. When all individuals, regardless of gender, have equal access to high-quality mathematical education, societies benefit from a broader range of perspectives, talents, and problem-solving approaches. Understanding the Gender Gap in Mathematics The gender gap in mathematics education has been well-documented in research and statistical analyses. While early education often shows little difference in mathematical ability between genders, disparities tend to emerge during middle school and high school.
