Source abstract

A set D⊆V(G)D\subseteq V(G) is a 11-limited dominating set of a graph GG if every vertex outside DD has a neighbor in DD and every vertex of DD has at most one neighbor outside DD. The minimum cardinality among all 11-limited dominating sets of GG is denoted by γ1L(G)γ_1^{\mathrm L}(G). For every cubic graph GG of order nn, there exists a nonnegative integer tt such that γ1L(G)=n2+tγ_1^{\mathrm L}(G)=\frac n2+t. We establish structural properties of 11-limited dominating sets in terms of tt and use them to study the induced cycles vertex number, that is, the maximum number of vertices inducing a 22-regular subgraph. As applications, we determine the exact 11-limited domination numbers of generalized Blanuša snarks and flower snarks.
