Characteristics of the use of enterprise activity diagnostic methodology with statistical and mathematical modeling

The study aims to deepen the theoretical and methodological foundations of enterprise performance diagnostics and to substantiate a mechanism for employing statistical-mathematical modeling within a sequential diagnostic process. It is established that enterprise performance diagnostics is a management procedure whose value is determined not by the number of calculated indicators, but by the ability to transform heterogeneous information into a well-founded judgment regarding the enterprise's state. Financial, production, resource, market, and organizational characteristics originate within diverse information systems; they differ in terms of measurement units, update frequency, and the direction of desired change. The methodological framework is built upon systems, structural-functional, process, and comparative approaches, alongside methods of analysis and synthesis, decomposition, formalization, normalization, weighted aggregation, and correlation-regression, factor, cluster, and scenario modeling. The study proposes viewing diagnostics as a managed process of transforming raw data on enterprise operations into a set of interconnected diagnostic signals that characterize the current state, pinpoint deviations, explain their potential causes, and establish an information base for managerial response. The study substantiates the procedure for normalizing indicators with varying directions onto a unified scale, generating partial assessments, performing integral aggregation, and evaluating diagnostic gaps. Statistical-mathematical modeling is positioned as a toolkit, the selection of which depends on the specific task at hand. The scientific novelty lies in the refinement of the methodological approach through the creation of a cyclical mechanism. The practical significance stems from the ability to adapt the proposed mechanism to enterprises across various sectors without being constrained by a fixed set of indicators or a single mathematical model.
