Source abstract

This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis & McTaggart model design implemented in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 13 fourth-grade students of SDN Bumi Agung (8 boys and 5 girls). Data collection used teacher activity observation sheets, student activity observation sheets, and cognitive learning outcome evaluation tests developed based on Bloom's Taxonomy (C1–C6). Results showed a very significant increase at each stage. The average pre-cycle score was 39.62 with a classical completeness of only 7.69%. After the intervention, Cycle I Meeting I increased to 71.53 (69.23% completeness) and Meeting II to 76.15 (76.92%). In Cycle II, Meeting I reached 78.08 (84.62% completeness), and peaked in Meeting II at 88.08 with a 92.31% classical completeness rate (12 students). Teacher activity increased from 63% to 93%, while student activity grew from 52.63% to 88.89%. It is concluded that implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by PhET Interactive digital simulation effectively improves learning outcomes for fraction topics among fourth-grade students at Bumi Agung Public Elementary School
