Abstract. Introduction. This paper presents the results of mathematical modeling of turbulent flow and heat transfer processes in the spiral heating tube of a pyrolysis reactor. Materials and Methods. The k-ℇ turbulence model, which accounts for turbulent kinetic energy and its dissipation rate, was employed for mathematical modeling. Numerical simulations were performed using COMSOL Multiphysics 6.1 software. Results. Numerical simulations were conducted to investigate the distributions of temperature, velocity, and pressure of the steam flow along the heating circuit. The results showed that the steam temperature decreased from 812 to 574 K, while the flow velocity decreased from 3.4 to 1.2 m/s. Conclusion. The obtained results can be used to analyze thermohydrodynamic processes in the heating circuits of pyrolysis reactors and to improve their structural design parameters.
