The article presents the results of an experimental study of the effect of the hydrophilic mineralizer marshalite (finely dispersed SiO2) on the fire-fighting characteristics of air-mechanical foam (VMP) produced on the basis of the foaming agent PO-6 (6%). As part of the work, the multiplicity and stability of the foam were estimated at a concentration of marshalite from 0 to 3% by weight. It was found that the introduction of SiO2 has a positive effect on all the parameters studied: the multiplicity increases from 3.2 to 4.7, and the lifetime increases from 470 to 723 s. The optimal concentration of marshallite is 2% by weight, at which the foam stability increases by 29% compared to the control sample due to the formation of a reinforced skeleton of SiO2 particles at the interface.
