Source abstract

Over any field KK of characteristic pp, we parametrize the (Cp⋊Cp−1)(C_p\rtimes C_{p-1})-extensions of KK using pairs of elements (g,a)∈K×K×(g,a) \in K\times K^\times, via a "twisted" variant of Artin-Schreier theory. Focusing on the case of the local function field K:=Fq( ⁣(π) ⁣)K := \mathbb F_q(\!(π)\!) over a finite field Fq\mathbb F_q of characteristic pp, we use this parametrization to obtain an exact formula for the count of all (Cp⋊Cp−1)(C_p\rtimes C_{p-1})-extensions of KK with a given discriminant.
