Abstract The viscosity of liquid helium has been measured with a flow method between 2 and 5° K . The coefficient of viscosity decreases with decreasing temperature over the whole range. A particularly interesting feature is a sharp drop in the viscosity above the λ-point which coincides with an anomalous fall in the entropy in the same temperature interval. Possible explanations of this phenomenon have been discussed.
