A theorem supporting the view that the cosmic censorship hypothesis proved recently by Krȯlak [A. Krȯlak, Gen. Relativ. Gravit. 15, 99 (1983); J. Class. Quantum Grav. 3, 267 (1986)] for asymptotically flat space-times, is true in general, is generalized so that it is applicable to cosmological situations.
