Source abstract

Let r1,…,rtr_1,\ldots,r_t be positive integers, and let A\mathcal A be the set of integers of the form 2k1r1+⋯+2ktrt2^{k_1^{r_1}}+\cdots+2^{k_t^{r_t}}, where k1,…,ktk_1,\ldots,k_t are positive integers. For any positive integer nn, let r(n)r(n) be the number of representations n=p+an=p+a with pp an odd prime and a∈Aa\in \mathcal A. We prove that if r1−1+⋯+rt−1=1r_1^{-1}+\cdots+r_t^{-1}=1, then, for every fixed positive integer mm, the set of integers nn with r(n)≥mr(n)\ge m has positive lower asymptotic density. In particular, this confirms a conjecture of Chen.
