Source abstract

Iterated Weierstrass P functions exhibit relationships between period lattices and the dynamics. We connect the dynamical properties to the occurrence of integer and rational points on associated real elliptic curves. Defining a complex number z to be an integer point if both P(z) and P'(z) are integers, we restrict to P when the lattice is real and its invariants g2 and g3 are integers. We study when an integer point lies in the Fatou set of P and when it lies in the Julia set, and if there is any dynamical significance to this. Applying established results on integer solutions to cubic Diophantine equations to the dynamical properties of iterated elliptic P functions, we show integer points at poles of P lie in the Julia set. Integer points can also occur in the Fatou set of P.
