Source abstract

Abstract Results obtained by differential scanning calorimetry have been used to develop a macro‐kinetic model for the crystallization behavior of semicrystalline polymeric materials. Our model, which takes into account the effects of induction time, final degree of crystallinity and secondary crystallization, describes both isothermal and non‐isothermal crystallization kinetics, including cold‐ and melt‐crystallization. Experimental data obtained with Polyethylene terephthalate in a wide range of thermal conditions compare well with predictions.
