Source abstract

Strongly mixing property is defined for a classical stationary information channel, where a channel is viewed as a transformation of input information sources to output or compound information sources. Using Adler's condition, strong mixing is characterized by showing some equivalence conditions. In addition to ordinary strongly mixing property, output strong mixing is introduced for a stationary information channel and is shown to be equivalent to ordinary strong mixing, unlike ergodicity of a stationary information channel. Finally, product channels are considered and used to characterize strong mixing property.
