Abstract In this work, we use the master function approach developed in Boos and Göhmann (2012 J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 45 21) to describe the CFT limit of the six-vertex model at the free fermion point. Using the ODE/IM correspondence, we obtain an explicit form of the master function, which allows us to compute the asymptotic expansion of the function ω sc ( λ , μ ; κ , κ ′ , α ) that describes the expectation values of the fermionic basis operators (Boos et al 2007 Commun. Math. Phys. 272 263–81; Boos et al 2008 Commun. Math. Phys. 286 875–932; Jimbo et al 2009 J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 42 304018). As a result, we obtain the correlation functions of all fermionic descendants and, up to level 4, identify them with Virasoro generators, including integrals of motion.
