Significant Interactions Between Small and Large Scale Surface Waves

Under certain conditions it is found that the interactions between short and long waves are especially important. The type of analysis presented has applications to many nonlinear dispersive wave systems, but the detailed discussion is restricted to gravity‐capillary wave interactions.
