Source abstract

This paper addresses the development of a mathematical model for evaluating the spatial distribution of fine particulate emissions from a continuous elevated source. The model is built upon the advection-diffusion equation, solved on a spatial grid with logarithmic node refinement near the ground surface. For numerical implementation, a directional splitting method and an implicit scheme are applied. Particular emphasis is placed on the parameterization method of the atmospheric boundary layer. To verify the accuracy and stability of the proposed algorithm, a series of computational experiments was conducted for four meteorological scenarios typical of Tashkent. The obtained results confirm the conservative nature of the finite-difference scheme and clearly demonstrate the local influence of surface roughness on the deposition pattern of pollutant particles and ground-level concentration levels.
