Source abstract

The purpose of this study is to map advancements, trends, and research areas in mathematics education media between 2015 and 2025. Systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis on the Scopus database are the methodologies employed, and VOSviewer is utilized for data visualization on 33 papers that satisfied the inclusion criteria. The study's findings indicate that the number of publications fluctuated, peaking in 2025 after a notable spike in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic response. Although Malaysia had a higher level of collaboration (Total Link Strength), Indonesia was the country that contributed the most publications. Thematic analysis showed that the focus of research had shifted from crisis pedagogy issues to the creation of contextual media (ethnomathematics), which is currently at the forefront. Thematic analysis shows that the focus of study has shifted from crisis pedagogy issues to the creation of contextual media (ethnomathematics) and is now at the forefront of trends in the integration of artificial intelligence. In conclusion, research is moving quickly in the direction of digital innovation. These results offer a thorough road map for future study, which should concentrate on creating AI-based media to enhance mathematical reasoning abilities.
