Source abstract

The objective of the research is to identify the effectiveness of applying models and educational activities based on the integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) into the development of critical thinking skills from the point of view of the fifth-grade primary teachers. To achieve the research's objectives, the two researchers used the analytical descriptive approach, and the research tool was prepared as a 16-phrase identification, verified for honesty and consistency. The sample of 46 primary science teachers in the Riyadh Education Department in the academic year was 1445 AH. The research reached several findings, most notably: that the research sample individuals strongly agree with the implementation plans of models and educational activities based on the integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to develop critical thinking skills to a degree that indicates approval and an average arithmetic (4.25). With a standard deviation (0.80), the response of the research sample individuals came with an approved degree of requirements for the implementation of models and educational activities based on the integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to develop critical thinking skills to a degree that indicates approval with an average arithmetic (4.16), with a standard deviation (0.86). In the light of the findings, the two researchers made a series of recommendations, including: attention to the development of critical thinking skills through a teaching model based on the integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, as one of the most relevant skills in these subjects, and considered a fundamental knowledge, especially among elementary students. and build and design science curricula according to STEM methodology.
