The International Union of Historians (IAU) stands as a towering scientific institution, transforming its international conferences into a bridge for communication among researchers and a platform for serious intellectual dialogue. These conferences, numbering over twenty, have marked significant milestones in the history of historical writing, distinguished by their meticulous organization and rigorous academic atmosphere. They have left behind a vast legacy of reports and intellectual analyses that have contributed to shaping contemporary historical consciousness. These conferences have embodied lofty goals that transcend the mere presentation of research, aiming to create an interactive academic space. The ultimate objective has been to exchange perspectives, discuss methodologies, break down the scientific isolation experienced by researchers across the globe, and provide a platform for diverse voices to be heard on major historical issues. Through these gatherings, historians have had the opportunity to present their work and test their hypotheses before a select group of expert colleagues, thus refining their perspectives and guiding their approach toward greater accuracy and objectivity.
