The pursuit of sustainable futures has emerged as one of the most significant intellectual and societal challenges of the twenty-first century. The interconnected nature of contemporary global issues including climate change, environmental degradation, technological transformation, economic inequalities, demographic transitions and evolving social structures demands innovative approaches that transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries. In this context, the integration of mathematical sciences and social sciences provides a powerful framework for understanding complex systems, developing evidence-based policies and designing sustainable solutions for communities and nations. The edited volume “MATHEMATICAL AND SOCIAL SCIENCES FOR SUSTAINABLE FUTURES: Policy Innovations, Social Challenges & Sustainable Solutions” is a timely contribution to the growing body of interdisciplinary research addressing these global challenges. The book brings together seventeen scholarly chapters authored by eminent researchers, academicians and experts from India and abroad, presenting diverse perspectives on the role of quantitative reasoning, social analysis, policy frameworks and innovative methodologies in shaping sustainable pathways.
