Source abstract

In a proper coloring, a Kempe change interchanges two colors on a connected component of the subgraph they induce. For a fixed list assignment LL, a Kempe change is LL-valid if it transforms an LL-coloring into another LL-coloring. We prove that if GG is a 33-connected graph other than a complete graph or the triangular prism, and LL is a list assignment with ∣L(v)∣≥dG(v)|L(v)|\ge d_G(v) for every vertex vv, then GG has a proper LL-coloring and any two such colorings can be transformed into one another by a finite sequence of LL-valid Kempe changes. This proves a conjecture of Chakraborty, Feghali and Mahmoud.
