Source abstract

We consider Dirichlet LL-functions L(s,χ)L(s, χ) where χχ is a quadratic character to modulus qq. We show that for χχ even (resp. odd) L(σ,χ)≠0L(σ, χ)\neq 0 for all σ>0σ>0 provided that q≤109q\leq 10^{9} (resp. q≤1010)q\leq 10^{10}). In particular, this result rules out Siegel--Landau zeros for such LL-functions. Combined, these results improve on previous work by nearly four orders of magnitude. We also list some applications of this work.
