Source abstract

Abstract On the basis of the theory of force and stress multipoles developed by Green & Rivlin (1964a) a functional theory is given for non-simple fluids and materials of the space differential and space functional types, and relations are established between these theories. A linear theory of non-simple materials is derived from the general non-linear theory.
