The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 represents a watershed moment in Indian education, introducing a comprehensive framework that emphasizes innovative pedagogical approaches and interdisciplinary research methodologies. This paper critically examines the transformative pedagogical paradigms proposed by NEP 2020 and their implications for interdisciplinary research in higher education institutions. Through an analysis of policy documents, implementation strategies, and emerging case studies from premier Indian institutions, this research explores how NEP 2020's learner-centric, experiential, and inquiry-based approaches are reshaping traditional educational frameworks. The study investigates the integration of innovative pedagogies including project-based learning, flipped classrooms, competency-based assessments, and technology-enabled instruction, while analyzing their role in fostering interdisciplinary research culture. Key findings reveal that successful implementation requires comprehensive faculty development, institutional restructuring, adequate resource allocation, and collaborative ecosystems. The paper concludes that NEP 2020's emphasis on multidisciplinary education and innovative pedagogies represents a pivotal advancement toward creating a more integrated, flexible, and research-driven educational paradigm capable of addressing complex 21st-century challenges.
