The article presents the concept of regional monitoring studies conducted by the Department of Mathematical, Natural Science Education and Computer Science of the St. Petersburg Academy named after K.D. Ushinsky, as part of the Program of Measures for the development of mathematical and Natural Science general education in St. Petersburg for the period up to 2030, developed and implemented under the leadership of the city's Education Committee.Achieving consistently high results in teaching students mathematics, computer science, and natural science subjects is a priority of the state educational policy today. In their entirety, the qualitative characteristics of these results (completeness of knowledge, its depth, consistency, awareness, strength, flexibility as the ability to apply knowledge in changed conditions) reflect the pedagogical concept of learning. According to modern pedagogical research, a set of certain conditions for the organization of the educational process (personnel, organizational, pedagogical) can have a significant positive impact on improving the learning of students in mathematical and natural science subjects. The potential of their influence on the subject learning of schoolchildren in mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry, biology should be taken into account and used by teachers in the educational process. The article presents the concept of forming diagnostic materials for monitoring studies aimed at analyzing the use of factors of a positive impact on the educational achievements of schoolchildren in the practice of teaching mathematical and natural science school subjects by teachers of St. Petersburg, and key empirical results.
