Source abstract

Let RR be a Noetherian integral domain, let $V=\Spec(R)$, and let I,JI, J be nonzero ideals of RR. Clearly, if JJ is either a divisor of II or a power of II there is a map BlI(V)→BlJ(V)Bl_I(V)\to Bl_J(V) of schemes over V.V. The purpose of this note is to prove, conversely, that if such a map exists, then JJ must be a fractional ideal divisor of some power of II.
