The study results show that emerging research represents a major driver of technological transformation, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence (23.5% annual growth), renewable energy (18.2%), and big data (20.1%). Global funding in these fields has reached record levels, with AI alone expected to receive $90 billion by 2024. In contrast, developing countries face a significant gap, with the number of researchers not exceeding 740 per million people, compared to 4,500 in developed countries. The most prominent challenges are a lack of funding (72%), weak infrastructure (65%), and a lack of skilled personnel (60%). The analysis confirms that the integration of technology and civil engineering is essential for building smart and sustainable infrastructure. The study recommends reorienting research policies towards open innovation, scientific foresight, and effective knowledge governance. The conclusion indicates that keeping pace with future trends is no longer an option, but rather a strategic necessity to ensure scientific and developmental positioning
