Source abstract

This article examines the benefits of using STEM (science (biology, physics, chemistry), technology, engineering, and mathematics) technologies in mathematics lessons. The STEM approach plays a key role in enhancing student engagement, promoting cross-curricular communication, developing professional skills, and assisting them in independently solving real-life problems. Key challenges in the learning process are also identified and ways to overcome them are suggested. The implementation of an integrated STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) approach fundamentally changes the way students think. It fosters critical and systems thinking and fosters social and personal skills such as teamwork and communication. This article describes the potential of using a STEM approach in teaching mathematics to elementary and high school students and presents STEM equipment tools that can be used in studying various areas of mathematics.
