Source abstract

This article examines issues related to determining the resolution in multichannel post-detector nonparametric signal detectors. We define resolution as the ability to distinguish closely spaced targets. Typically, theoretical studies examine the effectiveness of detecting a single useful signal in one of the Cell Under Test consistent with its informative parameters. However, in real systems, the number of useful signals can be large. Consequently, determining the ability to detect multiple signals is an extremely important task. This article discusses a method for determining resolution based on an analysis of the uncertainty function for Wilcoxon’s rank statistics.
