How can mathematical models help us understand real-world problems? Applied Mathematics and Contemporary Methods for Real-World Problems explores this question through topics ranging from population dynamics and nonlinear waves to iterative methods on time scales and data-driven modelling. The book brings classical methods together with contemporary approaches and connects analytical results with numerical computation. It highlights both the insights models offer and the assumptions that shape their conclusions. Attention to the strengths and limitations of the methods and models presented helps readers judge how they can be used in practice. Written for researchers, graduate students, and readers who apply mathematics in other disciplines, this volume shows how mathematical modelling can be put to work across a wide range of problems.
