Source abstract

Abstract In this paper we investigate the mixed convection flow of a Williamson fluid under the effects of temperature dependent thermal conductivity and chemical reaction. The mathematical model for this phenomenon is described in a set of partial differential equations (PDEs) and further this set is reduced to a dimensionless system of nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) using a non‐similarity method. The non‐similarity method has an advantage over similarity methods for handling non‐similar problems. The method first uses transformations to reduce governing equations into dimensionless systems of PDEs. The effects of Grashof number of heat and mass transfer Weissenberg number, Prandtl number, Schmidt number and reaction rate parameters on velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles are given in forms of graphs.
