Optimality Theory (OT) is a major theoretical framework for explaining contemporary phonology, offering a constraint-based approach to explaining linguistic problems. From a mathematical aspect, OT can be formulated as an optimisation problem in which competing constraints interact to determine the optimal output. Pakistani English is a separate variety of English spoken in Pakistan. The current study investigates the mathematical modelling of constraint interactions and ranking procedures in OT, with the focus on algorithmic methods for establishing consistent constraints hierarchies. . The current research work explores existing ranking algorithms such as, Error-Driven Constraint Demotion (EDCD), Recursive Constraint Demotion (RCD), while terms such as Computational Complexity (CC), efficiency technique (ET) and applicability method (AM) are reconceptualised within a formal algorithmic framework rather than treated as established methods. Moreover, the current study introduces the mathematical models such as, linear and integer programming, graph approach and probabilistic simulations for analysing the constraint ranking behaviour using a constructed toy dataset inspired by Pakistani English phonology. The results of the study show that integrating algorithmic optimisation with formally defined violation profiles enables a more rigorous analysis of constraint hierarchies, illustrating how rankings can be computed, compared, and stabilised across different modelling approaches. The study not only provides an insight into the theoretical perspective of OT but also into its potential relevance for broader computational applications, including algorithmic modelling, learning simulations, and natural language processing.
