Source abstract

For a simple graph GG, a vertex labeling ϕ:V(G)→{1,2,…,k}\phi:V(G) \rightarrow \{1, 2,\ldots,k\} is called kk-labeling. The weight of an edge xyxy in GG, written wϕ(xy)w_{\phi}(xy), is the sum of the labels of end vertices xx and yy, i.e., wϕ(xy)=ϕ(x)+ϕ(y)w_{\phi}(xy)=\phi(x)+\phi(y). A vertex kk-labeling is defined to be an edge irregular kk-labeling of the graph GG if for every two different edges ee and ff, wϕ(e)≠wϕ(f)w_{\phi}(e) \neq w_{\phi}(f). The minimum kk for which the graph GG has an edge irregular kk-labeling is called the edge irregularity strength of GG, written es(G)es(G). In this paper, we find the exact value of edge irregularity strength of line graph of comb graph Pn⨀K1P_n \bigodot K_1 for n=2,3,4n=2,3,4; and determine the bounds for n≥5n \geq 5. Also, the edge irregularity strength of line cut-vertex graph of Pn⨀K1P_n \bigodot K_1 for n=2n=2; and determine the bounds for n≥3n \geq 3.
