Source abstract

For a given graph FF, a graph GG is FF-irregular if all its vertices have pairwise distinct FF-degrees, where the FF-degree of a vertex vv is the number of subgraphs of GG containing vv and isomorphic to FF. While the existence of FF-irregular graphs has been actively studied for connected graphs FF, the case where FF is disconnected remains entirely unexplored. In this paper, we provide a complete solution to this problem. We prove that for every disconnected graph FF with ∣E(F)∣≥2|E(F)| \ge 2, there exist infinitely many FF-irregular graphs. Conversely, if ∣E(F)∣≤1|E(F)| \le 1, we show that no non-trivial FF-irregular graph exists.
