Receding contact of the elastic weight strip and the rigid foundation under the action of a semi-infinite punch

The smooth contact of an elastic weight strip with a semi-infinite punch and a rigid foundation is considered. The own weight of the strip and the formation of the domain of its separation from the foundation are taken into account. Using the Wiener–Hopf method, the problem is reduced to an infinite system of algebraic equations. The lowest intensity of the external load, necessary for the emergence of the separation domain, was determined. The size and position of the separation domain, contact stress distributions, and normal displacements of the strip faces were found.
