Source abstract

Let ff be an integrable 2π2\pi-periodic function of d≥2d\ge2 variables. For a bounded subset AA of the dd-dimensional space let SA(f)S_A(f) denote the sum of terms of the Fourier series of ff with frequencies in AA. The following problem is addressed: given a sequence {Aj}\{A_j\} of bounded convex sets, do there exist a function ff and a sequence {jν}\{j_\nu\} such that lim⁡ν→∞∣SAjν(f)∣=∞\lim_{\nu\to\infty} |S_{A_{j_\nu}} (f)|=\infty almost everywhere?
